







20 April 2012 School Day of the 'W/Cdr Marian Pisarek' Primary School was celebrated at Radzymin. Group members attended a mass at the Collegiate Church of Transfiguration and the celebrations at the school. They also gave a live history lesson. Gallery 10 February 2012 Group members took part in celebrations to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the last flight of F/O Mirosław Ferić, a pilot of No. 303 Squadron, the patron of No. 11 Primary School in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Gallery 29 and 30 November 2011 we took part in the funeral celebrations of Gen. Tadeusz Sawicz. He has participated in Polish Air Force operations from the first till the last day of WW2, and was the last Polish pilot who took part in the Battle of Britain (July-October 1940). Gallery 25 November 2011 Group members took part in the opening of an exhibition about Polish Air Force in France in 1939-1940, organised at the Muzeum Górnośląskie in Bytom. The exhibition has been prepared by friends of our Group, historians Bartłomiej Belcarz and Marek Ryś. 11 November we took part in a parade of reenactment groups in Warsaw. We have used two wartime vehicles made available to us by our friends from the Stowarzyszenie Tradycji i Historii Oręża Polskiego i UE "Rudy" (Polish and European Arms History and Traditions Association) from Komaszyce. Gallery 10 November 2011 our Group has conducted history lessons at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński Municipal High School in Zielonka near Warsaw. The pupils learned about the history of the airfield at Zielonka, and about the scope of effort of the Polish Air Force from 1939 until the end of WW2. About 400 pupils participated in the lessons and they were also able to take part in competitions and win prizes. Gallery 19 September 2011 Group representatives took part in the official launch ceremony of the natural size Hawker Hurricane replica at the Arkady Fiedler Museum in Puszczykowo near Poznań. In mid-September 2011 Group members have accompanied Mrs Jadwiga Piłsudska-Jaraczewska during a trip to the airfield at Konstancin near Warsaw. Duiring WW2 she was an ATA pilot in Britain, ferrying numerous types of military aircraft. Now, 70 years later, she joined Jacek Mainka for a flight in the Taylorcraft Auster finished in wartime Polish Air Force markings. Gallery 3 September 2011 Members of the Group took part in the Warsaw concert of Sabaton heavy metal rock group from Sweden, giving a brief introduction to its song "Aces in Exile" devoted to Battle of Britain heroes. 28 August 2011 We have celebrated the Polish Aviation Day at Konstancin airfield, where Group members took vintage air experience flights in Jacek Mainka's de Havilland Tiger Moth and Taylorcraft Auster. Gallery 26 August 2011 Our Group participated in the ceremonial opening of the Polish Air Force Museum in Dęblin. During the ceremony one of the Group's founders, Robert Gretzyngier, was decorated for his merits in commemorating Polish Air Force history. Gallery 26 August 2011 Group representation took part in celebrations of the Polish Aviation Day at Pole Mokotowskie in Warsaw and laid a wreath at the Memorial of Polish Airmen Killed during 1939-1945. Gallery 26 July 2011 Our Group welcomed Jacek Mainka's Auster at its destination in Poland, where we have met Maj. Jan Paśnicki, former pilot of No. 663 AOP Squadron who had flown similar aircraft in Italy at the end of WW2. Gallery 18 June 2011 Group members set up an exhibition of WW2 Polish Air Force equipment at Płock airfield, providing suitable environment for Jacek Mainka's Tiger Moth which displayed on the ground and in the air. 4-5 June 2011 Invited by Czech reenactors, we took part in the international air show at Pardubice. Gallery 28 May 2011 We took part in the ceremony of giving No. 4 School Group at Skierniewice the name of W/Cdr Romuald Suliński, Officer Commanding No. 300 "Masovian' Squadron. Gallery 14 May 2011 During the Warsaw Museum Night we have displayed an exhibition about the WW2 Polish Air Force at the Polish Military Museum. Gallery 8 May 2011 A member of the Group took part in celebrations of WW2 victory anniversary at Dieppe, France. Following a meeting with veterans, who stressed the role of Polish Air Force units in the fighting there in 1942, a wreath laying ceremony took place at the Memorial to the Fallen in the city centre. Polish Embassy was represented by the Consul, Mr Kwiatkowski and by the representative of our Group, Grzegorz Zaleski. 28 April 2010 School Day of the 'W/Cdr Marian Pisarek' Primary School was celebrated at Radzymin. Group members attended a mass at the Collegiate Church of Transfiguration of Our Lord and the celebrations at the school. 16 April 2011 A member of the Group took part in the 3rd Military Picnic at Fort Włochy in Warsaw. 15 April 2011 A Group representative took part in unveiling of a memorial to F/O Olgierd Iliński, No. 308 Sqn Polish AF, at Caudebac-en-Caux (France), where he was killed. A street leading towards the moor where his Spitfire crashed was officially named after F/O Iliński. This is a second memorial dedicated to the memory of the Polish pilot (the first one was erected at the crashsite). 5 February 2011 we took part in the annual Historical Ball held by the Polish Armed Forces in the West Reenactment Association. 28 January 2011 Group members had a live history lesson at No. 127 Secondary School in No. 74 School Group in Warsaw. The Polish participation in the Battle of Britain was discussed and the pupil were given first hand experience of authentic equipment and clothing used by air and ground crews at the time. Gallery 20 December 2010 Group members had live history lessons at the secondary school in Zalesie Górne, about the Polish participation in the Battle of Britain. 11 December 2010 The Group took part in an all-day event "From Zielonka to Britain's skies ", commemorating Polish pilots who operated from Zielonka airfield during the Polish campaign of 1939, and who then fought in the Polish Air Force in Britain. We had lectures about the Battle of Britain and the role of Polish pilots in it, and about the ways of remembrance and commemoration of the WW2 Polish Air Force in the West Gallery 29 November 2010 Group members took part in the official closure of the exhibition "Polish Airmen in the Battle of Britain 1940. 70the anniversary of the defence of Britain's skies 1940-2010" displayed at the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw. During the meeting we had lectures about G/Cpt Stanisław Wandzilak (who's death's 10th anniversary it was), the Battle of Britain and the role of Polish pilots in it, and about the ways of remembrance and commemoration of the WW2 Polish Air Force in the West. The event was reported in major Polish TV news programmes. Gallery 29 October 2010 Group representatives attended a ceremony at Radzymin to honour Polish airmen killed in the Battle of Britain. A solemn mass at the Collegiate Church of Transfiguration of Our Lord was followed by a concert performed by pupils of the 'W/Cdr Marian Pisarek' Primary School at Radzymin, and then a member of our Group has read the Roll of Honour. 23 October 2010 a memorial to Polish airmen and special troops parachuted into occupied Poland during WW2 was unveiled at Łosinno near Warsaw. A representation of our Group participated in the ceremony. 15 October 2010 Group representatives held a live history lesson at 'Gabriel Narutowicz' Primary School in Warsaw, focused on Polish participation in the Battle of Britain. Gallery 6 October 2010 We took part in the official launch of "303 Squadron" game. During the event a member of our Group had a short lecture on "How many German aircraft were actually destroyed by 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain?". Gallery 25 September 2010 Our Group took part in celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Warsaw-Mokotów airfield. Gallery 15 September 2010 We were invited to the Battle of Britain Day party organised by the British Ambassador in Warsaw. Polish Air Force WW2 veterans were guests of honour, and a special flypast over the venue was made by the Tiger Moth T-7230, the sole WW2 RAF warbird in Poland, delivered to the RAF in September 1940. Gallery 27 August 2010 We paid out homage to the Polish Air Force personnel killed in WW2 during the official celebrations of the Polish Aviation Day. During the garden party that followed at the Polish Air Force HQ we were able to meet WW2 veterans, Cols. Edward Jaworski and Jan Janczak. Gallery 3-4 July 2010 Waddington Air Show As part of the Battle of Britain 70th anniversary celebration we gladly accepted the invitation to Waddington Air Show. Unable to carry all our hardware across Europe, we have prepared a multi-panel exhibition od the Polish Air Force's WW2 effort. Gallery 26-27 June 2010 We could not miss the 7th Małopolski Air Picnic at the Polish Aviation Museum in Cracow. Gallery 19 June 2010 We went to Deblin for the 85th anniversary celebrations and air show at the Polish Air Force College. 12-13 June 2010 We took part in the 15th International Air Picnic at Góraszka near Warsaw. Our airfield diorama included the very real de Havilland Tiger Moth owned by group member Jacek Mainka and a vast display of our kit. We were visited by veterans, Col. Franciszek Kornicki and Col. Jerzy Mencel, with whom we have been in touch for years. On Sunday we were forced to temporarily move stations to Babice airfield, the base of Supermarine Spitfire VB BM597 JH-C during the show. The two veterans, both of whom have flown BM597 during WW2, were reunited with their kite, and we were there to provide the atmosphere. Gallery 5-6 June 2010 Invited by a Czech reenactment group we took part in the air show at Pardubice in the Czech Republic, celebrating the centenary of Czech aviation. Our first foreign escapade was a great success, we have made many new friends, lived under canvas throughout the event, and participated in a Battle of Britain episode reenactment (Hurricane scramble to intercept a strafing Messarchmitt). Gallery 15/16 May 2010 During the Museum Night we held a live history display at the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw. 29 April 2010 We took part in School Day celebrations at 'W/Cdr Marian Pisarek' Primary School at Radzymin. Members of the Group attended a solemn mass, following which we had meetings with pupils, introducing them to everyday life of a Polish airman in Britain during WW2. We have donated a replica of W/Cdr Marian Pisarek's service dress to the school's history room. Gallery 12 September 2009 We participated in the unveiling of the memorial plaque to the patron of Piotrków Trybunalski Flying Club, Gen.
